Porcelain
Rectified edges, <3mm joint, consistent indoor/outdoor look. Frost-proof and stain-resistant. Easier to keep clean than natural stone.

Why it matters
How a patio is laid matters more than what it's made from.
Two patios in the same material can look identical on day one. Three years later they're very different stories.
Full mortar bed.
Not spot-bonded or dry-laid. Every slab is fully bedded on a semi-dry mortar mix. No hollow spots, no rocking, no cracking under load.
Resin jointing.
Polymeric resin joints prevent ants, weeds and water ingress. No sand washing out in the first rain. The joint stays put.
Fall and drainage.
1:60 fall away from the house. Always. No exceptions. Water that sits against your foundations causes damp. We don't leave it to chance.
How it works
From ground prep to grout.
A proper patio takes time. Here's what the process looks like, start to finish.

Free site visit and written quote.
We come to you, assess the levels, discuss the material options, and provide a written quote. No obligation, no pressure, usually within 48 hours of your call.

Excavation and disposal.
Existing surface or turf removed and taken away. We excavate to the correct depth for the sub-base, concrete bed, and slab thickness specified.

Compacted sub-base and concrete bed.
Type 1 MOT sub-base, compacted in layers. Concrete bed mixed and laid to the correct fall. This is the bit that makes or breaks the finished result.

Slabs laid in full mortar, tapped level.
Every slab bedded fully onto a semi-dry mortar mix and tapped level with a rubber mallet. Joints kept consistent throughout. Checked for hollow spots before moving on.

Resin grout applied and sealed once cured.
Polymeric resin joint compound applied once the mortar has cured. Sealed, cleaned down, and walked through with you before we leave.
